The Twins Go To School (Kind of)

The twins have started Organized Playgroups, the in-home preschool program that Gavin attended. Here they are on their first days.

Shockingly, Lucia (shown with her beloved backpack) did not cry or hang on to my leg at all! Fingers crossed for next week.
Finn, on the other hand, was great the first week but bawled the second. Here is the artiste working on his first masterpiece.
I'm amazed that they actually played together.
Out for a walk...

Family Portrait

Here are some of my favorite images from our recent photo session.

Unfortunately, no good family shots. This was the best of the lot.

Finn's New Haircut

At long last, Finn has gotten a much needed haircut. He was starting to look like a little ragamuffin.
His new 'do does have a certain bowl-like quality (as does Gavin's), but there is literally only one barber in town so we are outta luck. Any styling tips are much appreciated!

The Sock God

Here's Gavin with his man-purse, which he used today to transport his precious sock collection.

Here's Gavin praying to the sock god, we assume he asked for more socks.

Sha-sha and her brothers

Lucia is now referring to herself as "Sha-sha" and Gavin as "Boy". We're not sure what she's calling Finn. Little Lucia is taking after her mother and is already a bookworm. We'll often find her lying on her tummy in her crib reading "Colors" or "Kittens". She has also gotten a bit vain and has opinions about her clothes -- if you put a barrette in her hair or remove her vest, you have to tell her that it is very pretty or she starts complaining.

We've decided that Finn is going to be our athletic and nurturing child. He went to Gavin's soccer lesson this weekend and loved it -- he even learned how to dribble the soccer ball. So now he wanders the house hugging a ball or the stuffed "scarf dog" that Aunt Faith gave him. He and Lucia spend alot of time fighting over who gets to push the baby stroller (current resident: Pooh bear).

Gavin had a big week. His first official day of school at St. Luke's was Tuesday. So far he is loving it! It helps that he knows a few of the boys already. He also had soccer AND tennis lessons this week. He was a little nervous about goign to tennis and kept telling us "I never played tennis before. I not big enough; I have to be 8 years old." Of course once he got his racket, the story changed...

Cousin Rachael

Rachael made a detour from her college visiting to see us, along with Aunt Kate and Nonnie. The kids had a blast!
