Food

Buddha shaped fruit (didn't look yummy enough for us to buy)😋

Forbidden City

Too much walking. We (the boys) took many many pictures of the gigantic golden thrones. We saw a "little emperor" (aka spoiled only child) pee into the moat.

Beijing - Great Wall

(As told to mom)

Lots of fun so far. We took a tobagan down the Great Wall - it was loads of fun. The Great Wall had really good views and was big. There were ruins everywhere and some of it was sunken in the ground. We hiked up the wall but it was really steep (and slopes).

Shanghai

Xintiandi for dimsum with bj. And a visit to the site of the first communist party meeting.

Day one in shanghai

We are SO jet lagged!!! The kids are all awake now! They are writing in their journals now, recording their favorite foods and activities from the day. Here are some of their highlights:

The boys learned to make clay pandas at the Shanghai Arts and Crafts museum. Lucia and Lexie made flowers.

Day 2 in shanghai

Narrated by Finn

In the morning we had KFC with steamed milk with a smiley face drawn using chocolate powder.

I drank (and then drew) my first Pepsi and ate some delicious Xiao Long Bao dumplings (a shanghainese specialty that we ate every day) in Yu Yuan Gardens.
