Charleston
We loved Charleston -- lots of cute little neighborhoods to stroll through and fountains to stumble upon!
We got to explore a real submarine, aircraft carrier and destroyer (particularly fascinating for Gavin b/c he is currently obsessed with the game Battleship)
And lots of yummy unhealthy southern food. The boys entertained themselves during dinner by drawing floor plans for skyscrapers. Their rooms included TVs and Xbox's, but to her dismay Lucia's room did not. This caused a fight.

New yoga pose - downward dog digging
They spent alot of their beach time upside down digging (even though we bought shovels!)
And alot of time fetching water
Ninja Finn breaks a board at his party!
Kiawah - Lucia
Dancing on the beach...
Running laps on the beach and screeching "I'm wild! I'm having the moment I've always wanted!"
Kiawah - Gavin
In between digging some sort of sand fort / home for his scorpion
The kids found sand dollars (which Lucia thought could be used to actually purchase something!)
He said he's surfing in the sand, but we think it looks more like something from Star Trek
Kiawah - Finn
Finn spent most of his beach time digging holes and collecting shells. He ended up with a massive collection!
Here he is with his name written in the sand

Car ride to nowhere
Five hours in the car yesterday going from CT to LGA to EWR via a two hour detour crossing Manhattan (note to self: never take the Holland tunnel during rush hour)

Lucia's ballet party
Lots of pink (including wine glasses, at the birthday girl's request, filled with pink lemonade) and Cinderella even showed up! Afterwards, Lucia informed me that "nobody thought it was the real Cinderella because her dress had a zipper." Apparently the real one has a zipperless dress that the birds help her put on.

Goodbye sleepover with Alex
Gavin had his first sleepover this weekend, with his buddy Alex who is moving to San Diego this week. They had an Xbox fest, playing Skylanders and then went to bed at 10 (after mooning Thomas). Per Gavin's schedule, broken down into 15 minute increments, they woke up at 630 for a little more gaming, followed by donuts, some air hockey and some sort of hide-n-seek with skylanders game that they invented.
